Thailand: Dengue Cases Rise as Rainy Season Starts

Overview

Thailand is reporting a month-over-month rise in dengue cases as of May 2026, and the pattern is expected to escalate with the May-October rainy season. Cases are concentrated in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and other urban and tourist areas.

Pharmacist's note: A dengue vaccine (Dengvaxia) exists but has eligibility restrictions and is not universally available to travelers. The only reliable prevention is avoiding mosquito bites.
